Santa Fe, NM (March 2008) – As a number of states have legalized gay marriages, wedding experts have seen a jump in the growing trend of destination commitment ceremonies. More couples are settling down in long-term relationships, adopting children, and sending commitment announcements to their newspapers. David Stone has been the wedding coordinator at La Posada for the past three years, and has been planning ceremonies in the Santa Fe area for the past decade. Stone plans commitment ceremonies in the same fashion as traditional marriage ceremonies at La Posada with a staff who is trained and knowledgeable about same-sex ceremonies.

Stone pays the utmost attention to detail in selecting food and wine pairings, linens and decorations and other accoutrements that complement the couples’ style. He is also able to incorporate traditional Southwestern elements into the ceremonies, such as a “Mariachi March,” lighting farolitos along the pathway for the wedding party, or dancing “La Marcha” – a tradition that is supposed to bring good luck to the couple. And of course, couples will enjoy being pampered in the indigenous RockResorts Spa.
