**Southwest Redesign and Enhanced Services Provide Authentic Santa Fe Flavor**

Santa Fe, NM – March 26, 2008  -- La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa, A RockResort, will complete a $6.2 million dollar renovation this May 2008, inviting travelers to experience the revamped, sophisticated Southwest design, a brand new additional restaurant and updated luxury amenities. The extensive redesign will enhance all 157 guest rooms including 30 signature suites, public spaces, the RockResorts Spa™, the historic Staab House and dining venues.

As part of the interior design plan, the resort partnered with the Museum of New Mexico Foundation to incorporate indigenous fabrics and prints that will be featured in guest rooms and public spaces. Guests entering the resort will immediately notice the transformation in the lobby where individual desk stations will replace the traditional check-in counter, allowing for a more personalized arrival experience. Additional lobby seating will invite guests to socialize and enjoy one of the resort’s wine selections, listen to native flute players who perform each week, or admire the vibrant paintings that adorn the walls courtesy of Santa Fe’s Peyton Wright art gallery.  For an educational lobby experience, history buff Alan Osborne provides Santa Fe history and culture lectures, while the director emeritus of the Museum of Fine Arts, Bob Ewing, offers Santa Fe art sessions.

“We are excited about this restoration project, which is elevating our historic resort to new levels of luxury,” said John Luckett, General Manager of La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa. “Our commitment to providing an indigenous experience for our guests can be seen throughout the décor, distinct service elements and unique amenities.”

Already recognized for its fine dining AAA Four Diamond restaurant, Fuego, La Posada will introduce an additional culinary venue, Viga restaurant. Viga will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. Fuego, which will only serve dinner, will also be upgraded with new furniture including leather seating, elegant fabrics of sage green, gold and rose, and dark wood accents. A new street entrance will allow for easy access by neighborhood residents.

The pueblo-style village resort is centered around the historic 19th century Staab House, which was once home to prosperous German merchant Abraham Staab and his family. The Staab House’s casual and cozy eatery and bar will be upgraded to embody a chic, Victorian feel with large, geometric patterned fabrics in rich tones, dramatic new chandeliers, a refurbished bar area, new soft goods and furniture. The former mansion also features a “library” lounge area, which will be enhanced as well as the private dining Rose Room, which will feature a new wine room that will be able to house almost 900 bottles in a wall-to-wall red oak cabinet. La Posada’s wine list features 800 selections as overseen by wine sommelier Robert Ortiz.

La Posada’s 157 guest rooms will offer new soft goods and furniture including new beds with white duvet bedding, cozy lounge chairs, desks and nightstands in antiqued sand wood, refinished wood flooring, rugs and window treatments, and flatscreen LCD televisions. Each of the resort’s rooms are distinct in layout, but all will feature a brightened look and feel with patterned carpets and traditional Santa Fe colors of terra cotta and light sage. The four guest rooms located in the Staab House will be kept in a Victorian style with new bedding, rugs and window treatments. This includes the infamous Julia Staab suite, which is said to still be inhabited by its former owner’s spirit.

Guests will be able to unwind at the 4,500-square-foot RockResorts Spa, featuring a redesigned relaxation area with plush chaise lounges, drapery dividers to maximize privacy and a glass wall featuring a rippled water visual effect. Updates to the reception area and treatment rooms (including five massage rooms, two facial rooms and one spa wet room) add to the luxury spa experience. Just in time for the spa rejuvenation, a special spring-themed treatment menu is being introduced to tempt guests with such offerings as a Margarita Manicure / Pedicure, which concludes with a silver coin margarita.

Property owner Gencom Group, one of the nation’s leading domestic and international investment and development firms, partnered with Spillis Candela DMJM design firm on the renovation. Set on six beautifully landscaped acres, the resort is located in the heart of Santa Fe, just blocks from the historic Plaza and art galleries. La Posada features an art program in which an original collection of artwork, photography and statues supplied by local galleries are on display throughout the property.
